The Academy.
The academy is a football-rich environment, developed to maximise each individual’s talent. We have a culture that lives and breathes football, and immerses the players in successful habits and values, not just for football but for life. Our goal is holistic - to not only develop each individual as a player but as a better person as well.
In 2024 we have again partnered with Lakes FC, running a full Academy with their Premier Junior and Youth teams playing Federation football.
We also run weekly Skill Centres for all other ages.
This means we can offer more sessions to a wider range of players, and include some exciting new intiatives.
All registrations are now handled through Friendly Manager on the Lakes FC website Click the button below to register or find out more.
LAKES FC ACADEMY
Our full Academy.
This is a holistic programme that offers players a complete footballing experience. and uses best practice to work on the technical, tactical, mental, physical and social areas of each player. Attention is also given to the individual, identifying who they are now and what their strengths are, then enhancing these to take them where they want to go in the future, wherever that may be.
Players are exposed to our specialised training methods, delivered and supported by video analysis, feedback, injury prevention, strength and conditioning, and education workshops.
For the Lakes FC premier youth and junior teams playing across the WaiBOP Federation in the Y and J league teams. The teams are selected through trials in February and then enter the academy to train for the year.
The programme is designed to get the best out of each player, helping them become the player they dream of.

parental expectations.
We all want to watch our kids play. However, the research is very clear here; in order to create the best possible learning environment for a child it is important for parents to keep their distance and refrain from observing. This allows for players and coaches to practice optimally and be fully engaged without any outside influences or distractions.
Of course we understand wanting to see them progress, so we will hold open nights where you can come and see the children play games and show off their learning.
LOCATION.
We practice at Western Heights Primary School. This allows us to utilise the playing fields as well as the only indoor turf in the city if the weathers turns inclement. We are also incredibly lucky to be able to use classrooms and interactive TVs to help with the player’s learning.
*Please use the rear entrance to the school on Thomas Crescent, just above the school playing fields.
